It was announced last night that the NWA is bringing back the Crockett Cup. With the date and location announced as taking place on April 19th at the Gateway Arena. The event should be another solid card containing some of the greatest talent the promotion has to offer. One such featured match appears to be for the NWA championship between the ‘National Treasure’ Nick Aldis and ‘The Villian’ Marty Scrull.

The following message was listed on the promotion’s official website NationalWrestlingAlliance.com. As announced on the debut of The Circle Squared, The Crockett Cup is coming to Atlanta on April 19th, 2020 at the new Gateway Center Arena in College Park, GA! Tickets go on Sale on Friday, February 28th, with a special pre-sale for all those NWA Fans who are on our email newsletter.

It appears as though the event isn’t simply involving the likes of Marty Scrull but other Ring of Honor talent as well. While that isn’t confirmed when one visits the page the image towards the bottom showcases the NWA logo in the top left corner while the ROH corner appears on the top right corner for last year’s event. It could be nothing though. The logo may simply be there as a means to highlight the fact that Scrull is a prominent figure in Ring of Honor. It could simply be used to showcase that the two promotions are working collaboratively to have Scrull involved.

Last year the Crockett Cup took place in North Carolina and featured the main event of Scrull and Aldis facing one another for the NWA World Heavyweight Championship.

With the event taking place nearly a year to the date afterward, Scrull and Aldis lock up once again. Will this year’s event have the same result as last year’s or will a new NWA World Heavyweight Champion be crowned?
