#NEWS: The Miz And Paige Re-sign With WWE

While we are doing our best to not get lost in the proverbial sauce, there was other breaking news that took place on last night’s edition of WWE Backstage of FS1. And of course, it may have flown under the radar, because CM Punk showed up at the end of the show, you cannot take away what this news may mean for WWE.

During the FS1 show last night, Ryan Satin hosted his news segment The Satin Sheet and revealed two superstar signings.

First, former multi-time Intercontinental Champion, Tag Team Champion and of course, WWE Champion, The Miz has re-signed with the company. A true product of working your way from nothing to something. The reality and movie star stays with the company he’s been with for the past 15 years and counting.

The Miz, one of WWE’s most social superstars reacted the moment it was announced, via Twitter:

Second, the former NXT Women’s Champion and current WWE Backstage correspondent, Paige has also re-signed with WWE. The 8-year mainstay has been part of WWE programming since her debut in NXT. Most recently the manager of the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Kabuki Warriors.

Both singings confirm WWE is looking to keep some of their talents close to the hip as the ongoing battle for wrestling supremacy continues. The interesting part about this reveal is neither contract lengths have been released. That leads to the speculation that Miz and Paige have signed for a similar deal as Randy Orton.

We will have more details in regards to this deal and others right here on Pro Wrestling Post.

Caul’s Call

Good call for both The Miz and Paige here to stay with the company.

For Paige, she is still one of WWE’s most beloved superstars. A neck injury may have forced her to hang up her boots but similar to the recently re-signed Edge and current Smackdown superstar Daniel Bryan, modern medicine can lead to a never-say-never moment.

For The Miz, it’s simple: It’s his dream job. The man has literally turned his reality show gimmick into a real-life character. A multi-time champ, Money In The Bank winner and married to Maryse, what else will the guy do next? Congrats to both.

I’ve hated and love The Miz for years, but when Wrestlemania 27 season kicked in, I never expected to see him as WWE Champion. And yet, he came in to face John Cena as the underdog. Re-watch one of my favorite Wrestlemania entrances of all time from the ‘Must-See WWE Champion’.
