#NEWS: Sin Cara Requests Release From WWE

As we continue on the road to pro wrestling superiority between brands across the world, wrestling superstars from far and wide are either looking to be signed with greener pastures or looking to leave where the daises have died. But all floral aside, it’s been a tough time for WWE superstars to consider leaving the company, and today’s feature is just another victim.

Jorge Arias, formerly known as Hunico before donning the Sin Cara mask, has officially requested his release from his World Wrestling Entertainment contract. Taking to social media, which seems to be the new way to announce all things pro wrestling these days, the luchador informs his fans and followers he’s looking to leave the company he has been signed to for the past 10 years.

Roughly translated, Arias states in the tweet that “last night (November 10th, 2019), after much consideration and prayer, thinking about my kids and their future, I made one of the toughest decisions but most sensible that I could have made in my professional wrestling career; I have asked WWE for my release,” he stated and that while he is “grateful for the opportunity I was given, however, I’ve noticed that I’m trapped in a place where I’m not valued as an athlete or talent. I’ve worked hard and honestly, throughout many years pulling my weight, I’ve been loyal, respectful, a team player, a supporter and I’ve waited patiently for an opportunity to show the world all that I can do. Unfortunately, after all these years, that opportunity never came and I feel like that will never come so long as I stay in the spot that I am.”

Not taking much time to break the internet in a sense with the news, several wrestlers within the company shared their opinions on the request.

However, his current (and now former) rival on the flagship brand didn’t share the same sentiments as his, as Andrade made sure people understood he was the “New Face of Latino”.

A new report, revealed by PWInsider, is that Arias is looking to join up with Alberto El Patron/Del Rio in his new MMA promotion, Combate Americas, however, he may regret this public decision.

With all wrestlers recently, such as Mike Bennett and Luke Harper, WWE may consider not granting his release as the superstar has 3 years left on his current contract and has already been sent home.

Caul’s Call

While the original Sin Cara has been gone since 2013, this version of the masked superstar has maintained the character’s relevance. A former NXT Tag Team Champion, the man under the mask may be looking to be valued elsewhere, but as I stated in my response to Bleacher Report on Twitter, there is only one place he’s going for now…

John Caul is a longtime wrestling fan since the Attitude Era. A former color commentator for several independent companies and former owner of independent wrestling company Imperial World Wrestling, John currently spends his time interacting with wrestling fans on Twitter while enjoying podcasts such as Cheap Heat and Jobber Tears.
