#NEWS: PROGRESS’ WrestleMania Weekend Roster Takes Shape

This April PROGRESS Wrestling is returning the US for WrestleMania weekend and their roster is beginning to take shape. Announced so far are The OJMO, The Anti Fun Police, Eddie Kingston, and Cara Noir. It will be welcome news to fans of the company that PROGRESS seems intent on displaying a roster of independent talent aside from their WWE contracted men and women. Four young, potentially massive, stars and a legend of indy wrestling worldwide is a very nice start indeed.

The OJMO has been on fire on the BritWres scene over the last year or so as he has become a top tier talent for PROGRESS, Rev Pro and other groups. In PROGRESS he has been engaged in a feud with heel faction Do Not Resuscitate alongside Connor Mills and The NIC. He unsuccessfully challenged Eddie Dennis for the PROGRESS Unified title at Chapter 100 and faces El Phantasmo for Rev Pro’s cruiserweight title next month.

The Anti Fun Police is comprised of Chief Deputy Dunne and Los Federales Santos Jr. Equally capable of provoking laughs and cheers, AFP has become firm favorites across Europe recently. Although they protest that they don’t want anybody to have any fun, the majority of fans are now firmly in their corner. AFP has been on a winning streak over the last few shows claiming the scalps of Grizzled Young Veterans at Chapter 99. They have a PROGRESS tag team title shot today against Scotty Davis and Jordan Devlin.

Cara Noir has become one of the most talked-about British talents in years. One of the rare wrestlers on our circuit to have a unique, and easy to define character. The Black Swan exploded on the PROGRESS scene last September at Natural Progression 6. He has been on the rise ever since facing the likes of Pete Dunne and Ilja Dragunov. In just a few months he has earned himself a shot against Eddie Dennis at Chapter 101.

A legend of wrestling on a worldwide scale, Eddie Kingston has made intermittent appearances for PROGRESS since early in 2019. He joined LAX (now Proud ‘N’ Powerful in AEW) to feud with CCK. They wrestled in a series that saw numerous classic singles and tag matches take place. He last wrestled for PROGRESS at Chapter 95 during the Proteus Rumble to crown the belts inaugural holder.

The last time PROGRESS ran a show during ‘Mania week (Chapter 67 in 2018). The show featured Travis Banks vs Jeff Cobb, Walter vs Zack Sabre Jr, and Toni Storm vs Mercedes Martinez among others. All signs point towards this year’s edition being of a similarly high caliber.
