#NEWS Brit Star Sierra Loxton Suffers Broken Back

This past weekend one of the UK’s brightest talents suffered a severe back injury at an event in the United Kingdom.

While wrestling for Pro Wrestling EVE at their “She Rules” event, Loxton took a nasty bump in her match against Nightshade. It was enough for the referee to call a halt to the match as trainers rushed the ring to determine the severity of the injury.

Sierra herself tweeted on Sunday saying she was to undergo a CT scan on her back:

She then followed this tweet up with the results of her CT scan:

It’s all too easy to forget that wrestlers put their lives at risk each and every time they step foot inside the ring. This freak accident serves as a reminder as to what happens to the talent when the worst comes to the worst.

A broken lumbar bone takes on average three months to heal, not forgetting the surgery. It means that Sierra will not be able to do her day job, let alone perform in the ring. But one of British Wrestling’s very own has stepped up. He has created a GoFundMe page to help take away the added stress of financial uncertainty.

Chris Roberts – experienced and respected British referee – set up the page earlier today with a goal of £2500. At the time of writing, it stood at £1900, in only 13 hours.

I speak for all of us here at Pro Wrestling Post in wishing a speedy recovery for Sierra. We urge you all to donate even a pound (dollar, euro, etc) to ease her burden.

Blake’s Take: I’ve watched Sierra grow so much over the past 12 months in promotions such as Riptide Wrestling, IPW:UK and PROGRESS Wrestling. It’s heartbreaking to see her sidelined just as she was really turning a corner with her in-ring work. But with the right amount of rest and rehab, I can see The Freaky Princess back in action before the years’ end. And to raise nearly the entire total in 13 hours is insane! Wrestling fans truly are frickin awesome!
