#NEWS: AAA’s La Parka Has Passed Away

In a recent report from @Luchablog, AAA’s La Parka has passed away this evening. He was 56 years old. Fans may recall this past October La Parka suffered serious injuries after attempting a suicide dive during a match against RUSH. After the injury, he underwent successful surgery after sustaining a neck and cervical fracture. The intent of the surgery was to relieve the pressure and to repair the fractured vertebrae. He went head first and landed on the guardrail. His injuries were so severe that the belief that he would have even survived immediately the evening. He was attempting to recover from these injuries however, he was sadly unable to. At the present time, details have yet to be made available as to what ultimately caused things to take a turn for the worst.

It should be noted that this is not the La Parka that competed in WCW in the 90s. This La Parka took over the character when the original La Parka and AAA had a falling out. He took over the role in 1996. It would be the WCW La Parka that became La Park in Major League Wrestling.

La Parka was among the biggest stars in Mexico today in particular AAA.

Madison’s Mindset:

There is a video of the injury floating taking place and to see it is horrific. At 56 years of age, his commitment to do what he loved was evident. Fans would emulate his dance as he would come to the ring. In 2007, La Parka was listed by Pro Wrestling Illustrated in the top 50 wrestlers of the world. He is a five-time Rey de Reyes winner and captured six championships in AAA.

On behalf of the staff here at Pro Wrestling Post, we send our heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of La Parka. His heart, determination, and commitment to succeed demonstrate just how hard he fought to overcome these injuries. Sadly we repeat AAA’s La Parka has passed away at the age of 56.
