The Saga Continues

As we continue to find out who will hold court as the king of the cruiserweights in NXT as the champion, this week’s matches are sure to change the division’s entire complexion. First, the man with everything to gain and nothing to lose, Drake Maverick, bounced back a few weeks ago with his first tournament win. But this week is his biggest test yet as he faces the only undefeated man in Group A, the lightweight legend, KUSHIDA. Will Maverick continue to write his own redemption story, or is KUSHIDA just one match away from holding his first taste of gold in NXT?

In Group B, the undefeated Akira Towaza has shocked fans and naysayers throughout the tournament. But since the RAW star has re-entered the division, he has put many on notice. He wants to once again claim the NXT Cruiserweight title as his own. Standing in his way is the ever fantastic El Hijo Del Fantasma, who has strung together some impressive performances since his debut. Can El Hijo continue to be one of the tournament’s bright stars, or will the Stamina Machine once again cement his place as the top guy in the 205 weight class?

Who Holds The Top Spot?

In what led to an epic match between Io Shirai and the NXT Women’s Champion Charlotte, Rhea Ripley came to the ring to break up the wrestling fest. She was there to remind both women who still runs the yard in the NXT Women’s division. But as quick as Rhea has come back, Io has claimed her spot as one of Charlotte’s biggest contenders.

This week, in what is sure to be the main event of the evening, The Nightmare looks to get back on track in her first match since Wrestlemania 36. There she lost the NXT Women’s Championship against Charlotte Flair. Many believe she is still the number #1 contender for the NXT Women’s title. Will Rhea Ripley maintain her argument as the top of the food chain in NXT? Or will the Genius of the Sky show why she is still next in line to face Charlotte Flair?

Who Will Be Apart of Takeover: In Your House?

William Regal teased a major announcement for last week’s show. Then DX made it official.

On June 7th, 2020, live, NXT presents it’s next Takeover event, In Your House. Based off the idea of the classic Pay-Per-View from WWE’s past, NXT looks to once again deliver with this epic event. But who will be apart of this historic event? It’s only speculation, but based off last week’s actions, will Finn Balor and Damian Priest lead to an epic clash? Can Matt Riddle somehow, someway, get Pete Dunne back at his side? With the sole purpose of regaining the NXT Tag Team Championships from Imperium? Will the Limitless One, Keith Lee, have a new challenger step up to take the North American title from him? But the all-important question…

Who Will Face Adam Cole for the NXT Championship?

It’s been weeks since we’ve seen NXT’s resident legend in the making in Adam Cole. He hasn’t competed since his clash with Velveteen Dream. But whenever there is a Takeover, the champ steps up. If Adam Cole and the title will be there, who will become the #1 contender? Who will possibly face the Undisputed Era leader at In Your House?

Also this week, we will more than likely hear from NXT’s resident evil villains, The Gargano’s. Is Robert Stone looking for more clients to add to his stable? What’s next for the betrayer, Timothy Thatcher? Also, who is the next challenger to step up to Karrion Kross….if there is one?

That was Coming Up NXT for 5/20/20. Tune in to NXT, only on the USA Network!
