#AndNEW: Titles Change Hands At Rev Pro High Stakes

Last night at York Hall, London, Revolution Pro Wrestling ran their annual High Stakes show. The show itself had a huge card and was stacked with top tier talent. Eddie Kingston, El Phantasmo, LA Park and Mark Haskins to name but just a few. But the selling point of the show was that all three Rev Pro titles were on the line. And all three changed hands!

The recently Indie Spotlighted Michael Oku aka OJMO faced off against the Rev Pro British Cruiserweight Champion El Phantasmo with the title on the line. Last year really was a breakout year for OJMO and he has began 2020 with a bang, by defeating ELP. I said a few weeks back that OJMO will be in line for a stellar year this year, and I’m ecstatic that he now has his first major title win in Rev Pro.

Another wrestler that had a great 2019 was Gisele Shaw. The Lance Storm trained talent made a huge splash over here in the UK and has capitalized on that success by claiming the British Women’s Championship from Zoe Lucas.

This time last year Will was squaring up to All Elite Wrestling’s PAC. Yesterday he faced off against Zack Sabre Jr in the main event of High Stakes. On the line was Zack’s British Heavyweight Championship. And these long time NJPW rivals put on a hellacious match. With Will coming out the victor and avenging his New Beginnings loss and capturing the top title in Rev Pro for the very first time.

Blake’s Take: What a night for Rev Pro and the three new champions. The main shock for me was seeing Shaw capture the Women’s title. With Gisele spending more time on these shores, could we be seeing her make more defenses of her title? And The OJMO is a stud. That match with El Phantasmo was up there with his match PAC. It was THAT DAMN GOOD. And let’s not forget the “elder statesmen” of the BritWres scene. Will and Zack put on another fantastic showing. I, and many others, really could watch them for days. These are exciting times for Rev Pro.
