#AndNEW: SPOILER – New Champion Crowned At IMPACT TV Tapings Friday Night

With the AXS TV debut less than a week away, IMPACT Wrestling held their tapings for the upcoming weeks on Friday night in Windsor, Ontario, Canada and a new champion has been crowned. In the scheduled Bound For Glory Steel Cage rematch that will happen on the first episode of IMPACT this Tuesday, Sami Callihan defeated Brian Cage to become the new IMPACT World Heavyweight Champion.

#TheDraw is now finally holding world championship gold with this win, gold that he has been chasing for what feels to be forever. It was Callihan who handed Cage his first loss earlier in October, so it only made sense for oVe’s leader to do it once again and become world champion.

While many fans preferred Callihan to walk out at Bound For Glory, this is the move that makes the most sense in terms of a complete reset. Callihan delivered a scathing promo before their match at Bound For Glory that made the fans know who he truly is and why he’s the way he is. Hopefully IMPACT plays it before this match one more time so that new fans of the show can learn who they will be dealing with as the world champion moving forward. Look below to see the video for yourself.

Following his win, Tessa Blanchard went directly into the ring to ask for a title shot, as these two have not found an end to their heated rivalry by any means. Will Callihan-Blanchard III be on the horizon, this time for the IMPACT World Heavyweight Championship? Or does Callihan’s two wins over Tessa mean she has some proving to do? Something tells me the third match is “undeniable”.

    Scott’s Thoughts:

While Brian Cage is the perfect prototype in everything you want in your new world champion, crowned in Sami Callihan is what sets IMPACT apart from all the other companies now. #TheDraw is now in a position to lead IMPACT into this new chapter that they have been searching for and have finally gotten. He is the man who brought attention to this show long before the greatness of Tessa Blanchard.

The continuous rivalry between these two is what makes IMPACT so incredibly unique and great. As the new “IMPACT” guy, this is more than exciting to know going into the first big show as this really is the best decision as a company by Scott D’Amore and Don Callis as the “Callihan Death Machine” should lead them into the promised land of becoming one of the best wrestling shows on television.
