Let us find out more about this unique show in Columbus in the latest edition of AEW Ignite.

Powerhouse Hobbs Will Be In Action

Last week, Hook shocked the world by ending Ricky Starks’s year-long reign as FTW Champion. Another shocking moment happened as Starks poured his heart out to the AEW crowd. Powerhouse Hobbs turned on his long-time Team Taz partner.

On Wednesday night, we will see Powerhouse Hobbs in action. Will we learn more about why he betrayed his friend? It will be a big night for the young and talented Powerhouse Hobbs, for sure.

Orange Cassidy vs. Jay Lethal

On last week’s AEW Rampage, Orange Cassidy and the Best Friends defeated the team of Jay Lethal, Sonjay Dutt & Satnam Singh. While the underrated Sonjay Dutt took the pin, it was certainly an embarrassing moment for the talented Lethal. Wednesday night, Lethal gets a measure of revenge.

His opponent on AEW Dynamite will be Orange Cassidy. Cassidy has proven time and time again that he is a talented competitor when properly motivated. If you give him a chance to face a talented Jay Lethal? That would seem like the makings of a wonderful match on Wednesday.

The Undisputed Elite Is Back

In another exciting event, the Undisputed Elite (Bobby Fish, Matt Jackson, Nick Jackson, Kyle O’Reilly, and Adam Cole return on Wednesday night. Many of the group haven’t been in action since Forbidden Door. What will the group have to say in Columbus? And is the group still on the same page? It will be very interesting to find out on AEW Dynamite.

Matt Hardy vs. Christian Cage

On a recent AEW Dynamite, Matt Hardy confronted Christian Cage about his recent attacks against Jungle Boy. Cage didn’t take this criticism well, and he had Luchasaurus put Hardy through a table. On Wednesday night, it is time for Hardy versus Cage. And Cage doesn’t have Luchasaurus as the backup this time.

These two veterans have been competing against each other for years. Who will get the upper hand in this personal rivalry? Don’t be surprised to see these two pull out all the stops to pick up an important victory in Columbus.

AEW Dynamite IGNITE for 8/3/22
Thunder Rosa & Toni Storm vs. Britt Baker & Jaime Hayter

On last week’s Dynamite, Thunder Rosa retained the AEW World Women’s Championship against Miyu Yamashita. But Rosa gets no time for rest. She will be teaming with Toni Storm to take on the dangerous team of Britt Baker and Jamie Hayter.

While Thunderstorm has had some recent success, they certainly lack the experience of Baker and Hayter. If you add in the fact that Baker and Hayter will do anything in their power to pull off a victory, this could be a potential upset. And with a win, Baker might find herself right back in world title contention.

The Gunn Club vs. The Acclaimed
(Dumpster Match)

It seemed the Gunn Club and the Acclaimed made quite the team. That all changed a few weeks ago when the Gunn Club betrayed the Acclaimed after an eight-man tag team match. Since that night, we have had rap battles and a lot of trash talk. And speaking of trash, it is time for the first-ever Dumpster match in AEW.

It is surely no accident that Billy Gunn was part of a famous Dumpster match many years ago. What advice can he possibly give to his sons before this huge match-up? We know both teams will be motivated for a massive win in this very personal feud.

Chris Jericho vs. Wheeler Yuta
(Yuta gets Jericho’s title shot if he wins)

Jon Moxley has definitely been a fighting champion since winning the Interim AEW World Championship at Forbidden Door. Last week, he defeated Rush in an excellent match. He is ready for more competition, and he wants a match against Chris Jericho, who he defeated for the AEW World Title all the way back at AEW Revolution 2020. That epic title match will occur on August 10th at Quake in the Lake.

Or will it? On last week’s AEW Rampage, Chris Jericho disrespected ROH Pure Champion Wheeler Yuta. As a result, Yuta was able to get a match against Jericho on Wednesday. If Wheeler wins, he gets Jericho’s title shot at Quake at the Lake. Yuta has impressed in recent months, but can he defeat one of the best AEW has to offer? It will be fun to find out.

What Else To Expect:

  • Will we learn about more matches at the Battle of the Belts?
  • Will we learn about more matches for Quake at the Lake?
  • What is next for TNT Champion Wardlow?
