AEW Dynamite IGNITE for 12/30/20 | Brodie Lee Celebration of Life

It’s Wednesday; You know what that means. It is time to celebrate the life of Brodie Lee. It was shocking to find out the Jon Huber, known to the professional wrestling world as Luke Harper and Brodie Lee, had died of a non-Covid lung infection at the tragically young age of 41. He is survived by his wife, Amanda, and their two young sons (Brodie and Nolan). It is an utterly heartbreaking loss to the world in this the most difficult of years. This is AEW Dynamite IGNITE for 12/30/20.

_______________

You can tell by the tributes on social media how much Jon Huber meant to the world. The countless stories of his kindness and support for his peers is truly heartwarming to read. One of my favorites is the “Being the Elite” video that was posted this past Monday. Huber and the rest of the Dark Order made all of us laugh in this difficult year of 2020.

The next two weeks were supposed to be the big New Year’s Smash cards. Naturally, AEW management made the decision to delay it and have a “Celebration of Life” for Brodie Lee this week instead. It is going to be a really, really hard watch this Wednesday night. Let us see what they have in store for us on this week’s very special Dynamite:

Eddie Kingston, The Butcher & The Blade vs. Lance Archer, Evil Uno & Stu Grayson

You will start to see a clear pattern in these matches. The Dark Order will be portrayed as faces the entire night. Lance Archer and Eddie Kingston are in the beginnings of a feud. It will take a back seat on Wednesday night as the original two members of the Dark Order join with Archer in this match.

Anna Jay & Tay Conti vs. Britt Baker & Penelope Ford

Mr. Brodie Lee gave Anna Jay the number 99. It was the number of his favorite player, Wayne Gretzky. Anna Jay has spoken recently of how much Brodie Lee supported her in these first months of her young career. It will certainly be an emotional tag team match on Wednesday night for her.

MJF, Santana & Ortiz vs. Hangman Page, John Silver & Alex Reynolds

The Dark Order had been recruiting Hangman Page in recent weeks. He will join Silver and Reynolds yet again in a six-man tag team match against the Inner Circle members. John Silver has been a comedic gem in the “Being the Elite” sketches with Brodie Lee this year. Hopefully, he will get a chance to shine on this night for his friend.

The Young Bucks & Colt Cabana vs. Private Party & Matt Hardy

Colt Cabana of the Dark Order gets to work with the Young Bucks on this special Wednesday night show. It will be interesting to see how he keeps up with the Young Bucks and Private Party’s high flying style. It should be a good and exciting tribute match on Wednesday night.

Cody Rhodes, Orange Cassidy and Ten vs Team Taz (Brodie Lee Jr. Dream Match)

This is going to be a really hard watch.

Brodie Lee Jr’s is getting to pick his three favorite wrestlers (Cody, Orange Cassidy, and Ten) to fight against Team Taz in the six-man tag team match main event. I am sure that it is an honor for the three of them to represent the family on this memorable night. It is truly honorable of AEW to do what they can to entertain Huber’s family on Wednesday night.

The results of all of these matches aren’t really relevant in the end. It will be a chance for all the AEW stars to remember their friend. I know they will make Mr. Brodie Lee proud on AEW Dynamite. Rest in Peace, Jon Huber.
