Rise of The Women’s Division

Io Shirai was in an absolute war with Candice LeRae at Takeover. But regardless of the battle, Io remained NXT Women’s Champion. But the talk of the night wasn’t just about the match itself, but more so about the faces that returned to NXT.

Immediately after Shirai scored the pinfall, former NXT UK Women’s Champion and Mae Young Classic winner Toni Storm appeared on the Capitol Wrestling Center screen. Toni made it clear that she’ll be seeing Io soon. But also reminded the NXT Universe that it is still Toni Time. Then moments later, after a long time promoted for the past few weeks, the mysterious biker turned out to be a returning Ember Moon!

While the champion has put LeRae in the rearview, can she handle two former women’s champions targeting her prestigious title? Will Ember appear on this week’s edition of NXT? And when will the Aussie return to the brand?

A Clash Of Evil

Outside of Kyle O’Reilly vs. Finn Balor and the aforementioned returns of Toni Storm and Ember Moon, the buzz from Takeover has been about the actions of KUSHIDA. After defeating Velveteen Dream, the Jr. Heavyweight legend decided there was unfinished business with Dream’s arm. Subsequently trying to snap it in half and beat down the enigma of a superstar.

One other man who has performed the same actions: the Psycho Killer, Tomasso Ciampa. Even though he was absent from Takeover, the former NXT Champion’s presence is still buzzing from his actions against upstart Jake Atlas. In this week’s edition of NXT, we get a Takeover size opening match between the two men.

Will KUSHIDA turn Ciampa into another example setter on what happens when you cross the superstar? Or Will Ciampa continues his terror across the NXT battlefield?

Next Man Up

And as of this writing, NXT officials have added Velveteen Dream and Adam Cole to the injured list after Sunday’s event. For Dream, it was expected. But for Adam Cole who was visibly brutalized by Ridge Holland, it has been a headscratcher.

In this week’s edition, we hope to hear from the bruiser about his actions on the former NXT Champion. Why he chose his actions to take place at Takeover? And with all these injuries, its time for other superstars to step up. Like Adonis who made his presence felt at Takeover during the NXT Cruiserweight Championship match. Or even Bronson Reed, who may have fallen short of the NXT North American Championship but is still top of the food chain.

Who will step up on this week’s edition of NXT en route to our next television special, Halloween Havoc?

That was Coming Up NXT for 10/7/20! We will find out what is to come heading into the epic Halloween special just two weeks away. Tune in tonight to another jam-packed edition of NXT, only on the USA Network!
