Welcome to the latest edition of AEW IGNITE for 9/30/20! Last week’s AEW Dynamite was full of great surprises. We had an unexpected AEW World Championship match. We had the AEW return of Cody. Dr. Britt Baker Returns
The Dentist is back in action! After months of injuries, Britt Baker is back in-ring action on Wednesday night. Other than a cinematic match loss to Big Swole at AEW All Out, we haven’t seen her compete in a very long time. That finally changes on AEW Dynamite.
Baker has been brilliant in her promo work since turning heel shortly before the Pandemic begun. If her in-ring work is equally impressive, she can quickly move up to become a title contender in the Women’s division soon. It is finally time for the “Role Model” to get back into an AEW ring.
Darby Allin vs. Ricky Starks
Ricky Starks has been mocking Darby Allin in recent weeks on AEW Dynamite. He has dressed and talked in ways similar to Darby Allin but in a very exaggerated fashion. It will all end on Wednesday night.
The last time Allin and Starks met in the ring, Allin used a skateboard to drive thumbtacks into Starks’ back. That occurred back before the two were involved in a very personal feud. After weeks of mocking, what will Allin have in store for Starks this time? It could get violent in a hurry on Wednesday.
Chris Jericho vs. Isiah Kassidy
Matt Hardy, Private Party’s mentor, was attacked recently on AEW Dynamite by an unknown person. Matt Hardy believes that Chris Jericho is to blame. Jericho didn’t exactly deny it on last week’s Dynamite. The segment ended with Isiah Kassidy challenging Chris Jericho to a match.
Kassidy has nothing to lose in this week’s match on AEW Dynamite. He is a young star and a tag team specialist. Chris Jericho is one of the biggest stars in professional wrestling. What will Isiah Kassidy do in this unique showcase on Wednesday night?
AEW IGNITE for 9/30/20
FTR (c) vs. SCU (Brush With Greatness Match)
This is being referred to as a “Brush With Greatness” match. Is it also a tag team title match? It depends on which place you look on social media. We do know the match will have a twenty-minute time limit stipulation. This will certainly force SCU and FTR to work at a very fast pace. That will make it a fun tag team match for all us AEW fans.
SCU hasn’t really been a major factor in the tag team scene since losing the titles back in late January 2020. They have been relegated to some matches on AEW Dark and a few losing efforts in singles match as well on AEW Dynamite. Can Frankie Kazarian and Scorpio Sky get back on track on Wednesday night? Or will FTR gain new bragging rights early in their tag team title reign?
